The Influenza Season Is About To Hit!
2018 Vaccines available NOW.
$25 for the Fluquadri Vaccine, the consult is bulk-billed.
The flu vaccine does not provide long-lasting immunity - so you need to be vaccinated each year.
The 2018 Vaccine contains the following 4 strains:
- An A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1) pdm09 - like virus
- An A/Singapore/INFIMH-16-0019/2016 (H3N2) - like virus;
- A B/Brisbane/60/2008 - like virus (Victoria lineage)
- A B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus
Getting a flu vaccination is strongly recommended, especially if you are self-employed, because if you do get the flu - it's nasty and you just will not be able to work. Think of it as insurance.
If you are over 65 or pregnant, you may be eligible for a government funded flu vaccine. Note, these vaccines have not yet arrived.

The importance of annual vaccination
Influenza viruses evolve constantly and in order to provide continuous protection it is necessary to provide people with annual vaccinations that contain the most recent strains.
Health organisations recommend annual vaccines, because post-vaccination antibody titres tend to decline over the course of 12 months. For optimal protection against influenza an annual vaccine is essential, even when the strains haven’t changed since the last flu season.
